Lumuria – Progressive Rock in Mexico
Welcome to the official website of Lumuria®, a Mexican progressive rock project formed by twin brothers Emi and Pepe. The band combines progressive rock, art-rock, and post-prog, creating a modern sound within Mexico’s progressive rock scene. Influenced by existentialism, nostalgia, and introspection, Lumuria represents a new generation of Latin American progressive rock and brings a contemporary perspective to Mexican prog and modern progressive rock.
Lumuria's Music Style
Progressive rock, art-rock, and post-prog from Mexico
Our sound is inspired by these genres and artists:
– Lumuria draws influence from artists such as Steven Wilson, Plini, Steve Vai, and Porcupine Tree.
– Progressive structures and the use of modern harmony.
– Latin, jazz, and alternative rock rhythms.
MODERN AND UPLIFTING PROGRESSIVE ROCK
“Tierra Alta” showcases Lumuria’s most powerful instrumental side, blending modern progressive rock with alternative metal influences. A dynamic track that explores contemporary textures within art-rock and Mexican post-prog.
Mexican Progressive Rock with a Signature Sound
With “Cosmic Latte”, Lumuria leans further into the art-rock and post-prog side of its sound, embracing a sci-fi concept inspired by the theme of the release: The Colour of the Universe.
AOR and Melodic Rock
“return 0;” by Lumuria explores melodic rock and AOR influences within the framework of Mexican progressive rock. This instrumental track is characterized by dreamy guitar melodies and the energetic drive of bass and drums.
Instrumental Prog with Melodic Focus
“Organic Sunset” captures one of Lumuria’s earliest creative moments in their instrumental phase, where expressive guitars and layered atmospheres create a soundscape rooted in Mexican instrumental progressive rock. Inspired by contemporary prog, the track blends technical skill with melodic storytelling, showing how the band can convey emotion and narrative without vocals.
"Mexican rock is stronger than ever…"
About Lumuria
Lumuria is the progressive rock project of Mexican twin brothers Emi and Pepe, blending prog rock, art-rock, and post-prog with their Mexican roots to create a distinctive sound within the prog scene in Latin America. Their most notable single, “Tierra Alta,” highlights their signature approach — a modern, uplifting track rooted in Mexican progressive rock. Beyond their own releases, Lumuria collaborates as producers and musicians on various projects, exploring new forms of progressive rock production and musical collaboration within the Spanish-language prog and alternative music scenes. In 2022, Lumuria shared the stage with iconic international progressive rock bands, including Saga and Brit Floyd, at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico — a milestone that solidified their presence as an emerging force in Mexican progressive rock.
